Hagoromo Otsutsuki, son of Kaguya, battled and sealed the Ten-Tails within the moon. He then spread the teachings of Ninshū, distributing chakra to humanity and earning the title Sage of Six Paths. He is recognized as the progenitor of all ninjutsu and the origin of the Rinnegan and Sharingan lineages.

Hagoromo's Sons — The Rivalry of Indra and Asura
Hagoromo's sons Indra and Asura embodied opposing philosophies — power and bonds respectively. When Hagoromo chose Asura as his successor, Indra's resentment sparked a rivalry that has reincarnated through the ages, ultimately manifesting in Sasuke Uchiha and Naruto Uzumaki.

Danzo Shimura, prioritizing village stability, ordered Itachi to prevent the plan and also took one of Shisui Uchiha's eyes, setting in motion the chain of events that led to the clan massacre.

Massacre of the Uchiha Clan

Freed from Edo Tensei, Madara Uchiha sealed the Ten-Tails within himself and became its jinchuriki. He then projected his Rinnegan onto the moon to activate the Infinite Tsukuyomi, trapping virtually the entire world in a mass genjutsu.
