Senku Ishigami Awakens After 3,700 Years of Petrification
Senku, who had remained conscious throughout his petrification, is freed when nitrous acid produced by bacteria dissolves his stone shell. Having counted every second, he calculates the year as approximately 5738. He immediately resolves to restore scientific civilization from scratch.
— Vol. 1, Ch. 1. 3,719 years after the petrification event (official date: April 1, year 5738).
Taiju Revives; Revival Fluid Refined from Swallow-Nest Nitric Acid
Senku successfully revives Taiju from petrification. Together they combine nitric acid from swallow nests with ethanol (grape wine) to formulate the revival fluid, establishing the foundation for restoring humanity.
Tsukasa Shishio Revives; His Ideology of Selecting the Strong Clashes with Senku
Senku revives Tsukasa Shishio, the strongest fighter of the old world. Tsukasa begins smashing petrified humans he deems unworthy, clashing with Senku's plan to revive all of humanity through science. Tsukasa breaks Senku's neck, and Senku fakes his death to escape.
Senku Discovers Ishigami Village and Meets Kohaku and Chrome
Senku, after escaping, discovers Ishigami Village deep in Japan's mountains. The villagers are descendants of Byakuya Ishigami — Senku's father, an astronaut who had survived the petrification in space — and his crewmates. Senku meets the fierce warrior Kohaku and the self-styled 'sorcerer' Chrome, and begins building the Kingdom of Science.
— Ishigami Village is descended from six space-station crew members led by Byakuya Ishigami (a JAXA astronaut) who survived the petrification in orbit and returned to Earth.
Senku Invents Iron, Glass, and Gunpowder in Rapid Succession
At Ishigami Village, Senku achieves the production of glass, refined iron, and gunpowder in rapid succession. Glass enables lenses and microscopes; iron supplies weapons and tools; gunpowder serves in mining and combat. Each invention accelerates the chain reaction of civilization's rebuilding.
Senku Completes Sulfa Drug, Saving the Ailing Priestess Ruri
Ishigami Village's priestess Ruri has been suffering from a chronic illness. Senku synthesizes a sulfa drug to cure her, wins the village chief tournament, and earns the trust of the villagers. This formally establishes Senku as the community's scientific leader.
Generator, Phonograph, and Telephone Invented; Byakuya's Recorded Song Reaches the Village
Starting with a waterwheel generator, Senku secures electricity and then invents a phonograph and telephone. A recording made 3,700 years earlier by Byakuya — the singer Lillian's voice, preserved for the village — is played back through the phonograph. The telephone becomes essential for wireless communication during the Petrification War.
Stone Wars Begin; Kingdom of Science vs. Empire of Might Ends with Mass Re-Petrification
Full-scale war breaks out between Tsukasa's Empire of Might and Senku's Kingdom of Science. Senku deploys wireless phones, iron armor, and tactical mobility. The battle concludes when Tsukasa's subordinate Hyoga is neutralized with a herbal sleeping agent, and the gravely wounded Tsukasa agrees to be petrified and preserved until medicine can save him.
Petroleum Extracted; Early Car and Aircraft Developed; Sea Voyage Preparations Begin
Senku's group successfully extracts petroleum and develops prototype motorized vehicles and early aircraft. Evidence begins to suggest that the mysterious radio communicator 'Whyman' may be transmitting from the Moon via the Medusa petrification device, prompting Senku to plan a global sea voyage to Treasure Island.
Science Vessel Perseus Completed; Navigator Ryusui Joins and the Ship Sets Sail
Senku's team completes the large science vessel Perseus, combining timber, iron, sails, and an engine. They revive Ryusui Nanami — a brilliant but greedy navigator — and enlist him as helmsman. Perseus sets sail toward the southern Treasure Island.
— September 10, year 5741: Perseus completed, per official timeline and fan wiki.
Ibara of Treasure Island Defeated; First Medusa Petrification Device Captured
Senku's team reaches the southern Treasure Island. The island's ruler Ibara has been using a Medusa device to control its inhabitants. Through scientific strategy, Senku corners Ibara, and after petrifying and reviving the entire island, humanity acquires its first Medusa device. The identity of Whyman becomes clearer.
Whyman Confirmed to Be on the Moon; Senku Declares a Lunar Mission
The source of Whyman's mysterious transmissions is pinpointed to the lunar surface. Whyman is hypothesized to be a mechanical collective intelligence composed of Medusa devices on the Moon. Senku declares his intention to develop a rocket and fly to the Moon.
Landing in North America; Conflict with Dr. Xeno's Science Empire
Seeking resources and manpower for rocket development, Senku's team heads to North America. There, genius scientist Dr. Xeno White has built his own science empire, leading to an intellectual and military clash with Senku. Securing rocket materials and reviving humans worldwide proceed simultaneously.
Medusa Activates at South American Petrification Source; All Humanity Re-Petrified
Senku's team pinpoints the origin of the petrification ray to South America and closes in. During a decisive battle with Stanley's forces, the on-site Medusa activates involuntarily, re-petrifying Senku and all of humanity on Earth. The stone world resets to zero a second time.
Suika Survives Alone and Works Desperately to Revive Senku
Suika, who by chance escaped the second petrification, survives alone for several years collecting revival fluid ingredients. Her solitary efforts to revive Senku become the starting point for the next phase of rebuilding.
Senku Revived; Allies Restored in Sequence; Space Rocket Plan Restarts
Thanks to Suika, Senku is revived and Kingdom of Science members are freed from stone one by one. Senku re-declares the rocket development plan and directs the rebuilding of technologies needed for space development: power generation, metal refining, and fuel production.
Space Rocket Completed; Senku's Team Successfully Lands on the Moon
Senku's team completes a liquid-fuel rocket and launches into space. They achieve a successful lunar landing and reach Whyman's base. The achievement comes after overcoming the scientific challenges of microgravity, vacuum, and radiation.
Whyman Is a Collective of Medusa Devices; Senku Negotiates and Brings One Back to Earth
Confronting Whyman on the Moon, Senku determines that it is an autonomous mechanical intelligence formed by a collective of Medusa devices. Through negotiation, Senku reaches an agreement: one Medusa remains on Earth while the others depart for another planet. The true cause and purpose of humanity's global petrification is finally revealed.
All Humanity Simultaneously De-Petrified via Medusa; Civilization Is Rebuilt
As the fruit of Senku's negotiations, the Medusa's revival function is activated on a planetary scale, simultaneously freeing all of humanity from petrification. Senku's long-held goal of 'getting everyone back' is achieved through the power of science.
Senku at ~24; Foundation of New Civilization Complete, New Scientific Era Begins
After the Stone Wars, sea voyages, and space mission, Senku is approximately 24 at the story's end. The technology and ethos of the Kingdom of Science are passed on to people worldwide as a new civilizational era — one in which all of humanity benefits from science — begins.
