Near Graze Forest, Frieren confronts and defeats Qual, a remnant of the Seven Sages of Destruction who once served the Demon King. It is revealed that the original party had passed through this area during their journey.

Visit to Eisen, Acquisition of Flamme's Notes, and Stark Joins the Party

Frieren and Fern visit the retired warrior Eisen in the Wille Region. He gives Frieren the notes of legendary mage Flamme, which reveal the existence of Aureole — the Resting Place of Souls — at Ende, the world's northern tip. Eisen's apprentice, the young warrior Stark, joins the party.

The Party Visits the Sword's Hometown and Celebrates Stark's 18th Birthday

The party stops at the Sword's Hometown and celebrates Stark's eighteenth birthday. Local legends about Hero Himmel's past visit remain, and Frieren shares her memories of that time.

Priest Sein Joins Frieren's Party

The priest Sein, who is searching for his missing childhood friend known as 'Gorilla the Warrior,' joins the party. He accompanies Frieren's northward journey and proves himself in battles along the way.

First-Class Mage Examination; Fern Becomes the Youngest Ever to Pass

Frieren and Fern participate in the First-Class Mage Examination held every three years in the magic city of Äußerst. The exam consists of three stages: a capture battle, an untouched dungeon, and a final assessment by the great mage Série. Fern (age 18) becomes the youngest person ever to pass.

In the fortress city of Weise on the Northern Plateau, the Seven Sage of Destruction Macht has enslaved the town with his golden magic. Responding to First-Class Mage Lehrerin's request, Frieren's party fights to liberate the city, and Frieren together with Denken defeats Macht.

Discovery of Himmel's Notes at Lake Corridor

Near Weise, Himmel's notes left behind during the original party's journey are found at Lake Corridor. Frieren reflects on memories of that time and comes to understand anew how widely Himmel had left his mark on the world.

The Party Reaches the Goddess Stele at Kino Pass

At Kino Pass in the Northern Plateau stands a stele said to have been left by the goddess. Frieren's party arrives there to find special magic related to time manipulation inscribed on it, deepening the central mysteries of the story.
