During the battle in Pristella, Ley Batenkaitos steals Crusch's name and memories. Stripped of her past, Crusch continues as a royal candidate in name but is transformed, and Felix remains by her side to care for her.

In the tower, Subaru himself has his memories stolen by the Authority of Gluttony.

Subaru's group overcomes the trials and enemies in each floor of the watchtower and defeats the twin Archbishops of Gluttony, Roy Alphard and Ley Batenkaitos. The stolen names and memories of Rem, Crusch, and Julius are restored to the world, but Rem wakes from her coma with no personal memories.

Scattered by the black shadow at the end of Arc 6, Subaru's group is transported across the Vollachian Empire. Subaru meets the deposed 77th Emperor Vincent Vollachia (going by Abel) and joins his cause to reclaim the imperial throne from a coup. The memory-less Rem treats Subaru as a stranger.
