Seeking Paradise, the white wolf Kiba collapses in Freeze City and meets Tsume, Hige, and Toboe, who survive by blending in among humans. After being captured, Kiba follows the scent of the Lunar Flower back to a laboratory.

The four wolves form a pack and leave the city
After the noble Darcia takes the flower maiden Cheza, Kiba and Hige leave the city. Tsume, betrayed by his human gang, and Toboe, rejected by a girl, join them, and the four escape their pursuers into the wasteland.

Kiba's pack meets wolves living under human rule
Beyond the wasteland, the four meet Zali's pack at an offshore mining ruin. Kiba rejects the wolves' submission to human labor and denial of Paradise, but the group rescues Hige from a trap and continues onward.

Cheza joins the wolves and reveals the path to Paradise
Cheza leaps from Darcia's airship and joins Kiba's pack. They evade the retrieval squad, cross the aerial city and the Forest of Death, and at their first full moon together, Lunar Flowers bloom to reveal a road toward Paradise.

Jagara's forces destroy the castle and capture Cheza's group
Jagara's assault reduces Darcia's castle to ruins and separates Kiba from the pack. Cheza and Blue are also captured, as the nobles' conflict tears apart the wolves' search for Paradise.

Kiba rejects a false Paradise and rejoins his companions
After the castle falls, Kiba awakens beside a spring in a dream world and nearly forgets both Paradise and his companions. While Tsume's group searches among the Monga tribe, Kiba abandons the false refuge and returns to the pack.

Jagara's ritual to open Paradise collapses
A device implanted in Hige's past leads the wolves into Jagara's trap. Jagara activates the Moonlight Furnace with Cheza and the moonstone, but after a battle involving Kiba's pack and Darcia, the ritual fails and the castle collapses.

The survivors regroup and head for the First Mountain
After escaping Jagara's castle, Kiba's group rebuilds the pack around Cheza despite Blue's disappearance. Hub and Cher also survive the collapse, and the travelers resume their search for Paradise as the world ends around them.

Cher dies when her vehicle falls, and Toboe takes a bullet while protecting Quent. Darcia then kills Quent, while Hub falls during the ascent of the First Mountain, leaving the path to the wolves.

Darcia kills Blue, Hige, and Tsume before fighting Kiba at the First Mountain. As the mortally wounded Kiba watches, Cheza becomes seeds and rain renews the world. The four wolves appear in a new city, where Kiba runs after a Lunar Flower.
