While investigating the island's legend and Ushio's death, Shinpei is attacked by a being identical to Mio. After dying, he wakes on the ferry on July 22 and realizes that time has repeated.
Shinpei investigates the Kobayakawa family and encounters Shiori's shadow
Shinpei visits the Kobayakawa home after the family's disappearance and encounters a shadow that looks like Shiori, the girl connected to Ushio's accident. Before the island's summer festival, the disturbance expands from one death to a family's disappearance.
Ushio's shadow appears and saves Shinpei from Mio's shadow

After everything ends, Shinpei wakes on a new July 22. He travels to Hitogashima by ferry and reunites with Ushio at the harbor, beginning an ordinary summer without the cycles.
